Biography

Yalda Mostafaie is currently an articling student at Whelton Hiutin LLP. She initially joined the firm in 2018 as a summer student while completing her undergraduate studies and returned as a summer law student during her tenure at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. Yalda has a strong interest in civil litigation, particularly in the areas of medical malpractice and personal injury. She is also passionate about using her legal skills to advocate for and empower all marginalized communities.

Yalda Mostafaie earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law in 2024. During her legal studies, she engaged in various advocacy courses and competitive moots, with a particular focus on civil trial and appellate advocacy. Yalda also has a strong interest in feminist legal issues and participated in a law school exchange program in Puerto Rico, where she explored the intricate dynamics between race, gender, and the justice system.

Fluent in Farsi, Yalda is adept in both reading and writing the language.

Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys swimming, painting, pottery, and cheering on her brother at his hockey games.
